Challenge

I collaborated with an agency to create ads to promote Sonoma Valley as a travel destination. And though the campaign ultimately never saw the light of day, it remains compelling and fun. I believe the ads impart a kind of unbridled enthusiasm. Of course, increasing wildfires and climate change produced some hurdles in the effort to persuade visitors to book.

Solution

The campaign focused on the ample natural assets of the region, while continuing to build on Sonoma’s positioning as the birthplace of wine in California. Referencing the many activities — from outdoor adventures to farm-to-table culinary experiences, arts and culture, and a rich history – the creative expressed the joy of one of California’s most iconic destinations.
